B Corp certification accredits that a company meets rigorous standards of social, environmental, and governance performance across its entire business model. It is awarded by B Lab (link to B Lab), an independent non-profit organisation, following third-party verification.
Today, over 10,000 companies across a hundred countries hold the certification.
Since February 2026, version 2.1 of the B Lab standards has been in force, replacing the cumulative score system with mandatory performance requirements across seven impact topics: purpose and governance, fair work, JEDI, human rights, climate action, environmental management and circularity, and collective action.
The new framework is aligned with the CSRD (link to reporting services factsheet), GRI, and SBTi, ensuring that the certification process also supports sustainability reporting.
